1. Yes probably one per roll out is worth trying - Jira Releases are a fairly blunt tool though so give it a go without committing to that being the forever approach.
2. Yes - you can search and bulk edit, or (even better perhaps) create an automation rule that inherits the releases from parent to child tickets
3. Release notes are typically used to communicate content and impact to users and related teams. See https://www.released.so/ for some inspiration.
4. Yes - you can use the calendar gadget in dashboards, Advanced Roadmaps, or the Timeline view in projects to visualise all the releases in a particular scope.
