we have so many roles that are created on our Jira instance. Now we have a requirement to delete unused roles. Now my question is, is there a way to see which roles are being used in projects?
we have 200 plus projects and we can't open each project and see.
There is a way to check the usage of a project that will tell you where the role is being used - which permission or notification scheme.
I hope it helps.

We developed CIFJ - Roles Dashboard for Jira https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1235459/cifj-roles-dashboard-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
This will give you insights on how roles are used acrooss projects.
This might work well for you as it will give you an overall picture roles across projects, then you can individually depict the way the role is associated in permission schemes.
