Hi,
We want to create a query that will show up issues (Stories and associated subtasks) in a certain order.
e.g. Story A has sub tasks X, Y ,Z
Story B has sub tasks Q,R
We want to get a results set that looks like this (We don't care whether B will show up before A).
Story A
X
Y
Z
Story B
Q
R
Thanks!
Hi @Omri
You need to things to get to the desired result. First of all, you need to run a query to fetch all the issues you want in your result.
Second, you will need a way to visualise the tree structure you describe. That is something you will need separate tools for, as there is no way to do this in the same window as where you run your query.
Depending on what you want to do with that result set, you will have to explore various options.
In Jira Software Premium, Advanced Roadmaps is included, where you can pull your issues into a plan, where you can view the issues in hierarchy.
A marketplace app like Structure allows you to create structures of your own, with even more flexibility regarding the hierarchy you would like to create.
The Atlassian Marketplace has several apps available that allow you to organise and display issues in some sort of tree structure that may fit your requirements.
The important thing is to define what you actually want to do with that hierarchy and where you would benefit from doing so. With that in mind, head out there and do some research!
Hope this helps!
Hi @Walter Buggenhout ,
Thanks for your detailed answer.
Our use case is to view a story and understand who is going to work on it (Frontend Developer, Backend Developer, Devops, ...) And what is the story points estimation for each one of them).
Will Advanced Roadmap supports filtration by Sprint? (I don't want to pull issues manually, we usually aggregate the planned issues under a Sprint placeholder (e.g. Ready for Grooming sprint)

Hi @Omri,
Advanced roadmaps is a planning/roadmapping tool. You can not only filter, but also group and plan your upcoming work in sprints.
It is probably a good idea to have a look at the documentation. This table of contents page may be a good place to start.
As there's a lot of information there, you can find more specific details on grouping and filtering by sprint on these pages:

Unless I'm missing it, I don't see how much the Agile Tools-Epic Tree, Links Tree, Time in Status & Worklogs add on costs. It gives a 30 day free trial button - even when pushed, there is no indication of monthly cost. This post should have gone under that as a Reply.

Welcome to the community !!
The pricing details of the app is available here.
Pls do let me know if you need any more information.
Thanks
