Hello!
I'm working with the new Product Discovery project and I'm wondering if there is a way to make custom fields for new ideas required. It seems these fields are created differently from standard jira issue fields in that you need to create them via the "All Ideas" table columns. Seems like certain default fields (summary, reporter) are required but I cannot find a way to enforce other custom fields when creating them in this view.
I would like to make these required in our slack integration specifically, so I can ensure other team members are providing enough context to the product team when logging new ideas.
Hi @Sarah Coles ,
Click on the dropdown and you should see the "Required" checkbox at the end of the screen.
@Najm Polaris Thanks for your quick response! I'm not seeing what you're seeing when I create or go to edit an added field from the "All ideas" page.
Is there a separate field management page i should be looking at? Does it require certain permissions I may not have?

@Sarah Coles Try updating the field from Project settings-> Issue Types.
Try this if you still can't see the option https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/How-to-make-field-Mandatory/qaq-p/1854806

I don't believe this solution applies to the Product Discovery project type unfortunately. I know how to manipulate custom fields for a regular jira software project, but this Product Discovery beta seems to present new limitations.

As there is no association between ideas (or opportunities & solutions as I've structured it) or ticket hierarchy, this is needed to mandate the workaround recommended in the Atlassian webinar.
