Problems with Timesheet report and subtasks

When I run the Timesheet Report for a Particular project, I get 2 very different numbers for "Total Hours" depending on whether I have the "Sum Subtasks" checkbox checked or not.

However, this project has NO Subtasks, so checking the checkbox shouldn't make a difference.

Why is the total Hours calculation changing?

Maybe you have Epic-Story Links? These are considered like subtasks, too.
