Problem with counting vacation days

Aleksandra Sobusiak October 22, 2024

Hi, due to the approaching turn of the year, there is a problem with reporting vacations in my company. We currently use Jira to report vacations: a Parent Issue called "Vacation 2024" is created for each user, and each specific vacation is added using a subtask. Currently, all days added as vacation are counted in the main issue - this is an important feature.

We have a problem, how to solve the vacation issue, e.g. from December 24 to January 10. Vacation days from 2024 will be mixed with days from 2025.

Is it possible to block the calendar in the main subtask "Vacation 2024" so that the last day off can be the last day of December?

Then it would be necessary to create a new Parent Issue "Vacation 2025", in which users would report vacations for next year. Would it then be possible to limit the start date to no earlier than January 1?

Is there another way to solve this problem?
