When you make a custom screen as a Jira admin, is it possible to see a preview of the screen prior to utilization? Do you have any suggestions? I am a new admin. Thanks!

Unfortunately you can't. One option is to have a dummy project where you can apply the new screens to an existing schema and then create/edit/view a ticket on the dummy project.
Although it's not that useful for create and edit screens - they are a simple flat list of fields, in the order you give them, so it's not hard to imagine them.
