Power BI report from Epics in Project timeline

remi September 26, 2024

Hi,

Please excuse my question if it sounds stupid.

I have multiple projects i look after (5). I use the Project Timeline view to give me an idea how an epic is progressing based on the time of delivery.

Can that view be converted into a power bi report (to combine the 5 project timeline) for my quarterly escos meeting.

Asking because it is a pain attimes having to open up different pages to show the escos in real time.

Thank you in advance for your ideas.

Regards

Remi

Hi @remi_omoyele , There is a add-on in jira called 'PowerBi Connector' which connects the Jira with PowerBI and in the data source you can add all the 5 projects and it can also be restricted to epics only from all the projects in Jira.

In power BI once you have all the epics populated, you can generate the report based on the need and yes the data sync from Jira to PowerBI is dynamic so all the newly created epic also populate in powerBI and gets added to the report.

Only major concern is that the add-on PowerBI connector is paid and license needs to be purchased to use it.

I hope this will help you with your query. Thanks

Hi Shib,

Thanks a lot for this.

I'll try this out.

As for the license i'll definitely get a sign off for it because we also use enterprise power bi at my end.
