Original estimate field cannot be set/updated/edited.
On new issues stuck with 0m, on old - stuck with values entered early.

Hi @Deniss Bulbuks ,

There seems to be a problem on Atlassian site so I encourage you to raise a ticket. There is a surge of similar questions, see: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/tag/original-estimate/tg-p .

If more people raise awareness to Atlassian, this should get fixed faster. Reach out to them.

@Deniss Bulbuks

if you are not able to update original estimate fields, most likely your jira admin has not given your user/role, the required privileges to update this field.

@Vishal Biyani everithing is OK with permissions. Project leaders has acces to edit issues/work on issues. I have admin rights, and also cannot edit Original estimate field.

Go to project settings -> permissions and check if Admin role has right to edit original estimate field.

As you have mentioned, if folks with Project Leaders role have access to edit the issues and not admins, then you won't be able to edit it.

Give yourself the edit rights for edit issues and see if this works.

@Vishal Biyani All mentioned roles and users have access in Project permissions, can edit all of the fields presented in issue, except Original estimate

one clarification in that case,

At the time of issue creation can the original estimate be updated?

I now understand that none of the users or role are able to edit original estimate value.

@Vishal Biyani at issue creation step there is no original estimate option. New issues are created with 0m Original estimate. Original Estimate must be set after issue created by Project lead (this worked untill today morning (03.03.2025), no changes in project/system configuration was made)
