Numbers in Project Key

There are a number of old questions about this not being supported.

Has this changed?

Being in the process of evaluating the cloud version in preparation for migration from server to cloud, I was able to import keys with numbers from my server backup.

Quite a while ago.  The project key now needs to be two to ten characters long, with the first one being a letter, and the rest letters or numbers

That was what I thought.  Does mean a lot of the documentation is out of date, for example:
