Notifications: Email Text Format Only

Is there a way to set email notifications to send TEXT format (only), on a per project basis?

Use case:

  • When notifications are sent in HTML format, recipients can easily respond to the email which is great.
  • However, that comes at a price: any image (e.g. signatures) are automatically added to the attachments of an issue.

It's easy to see how an issue is easily bombarded with irrelevant (image) attachments, ultimately making it difficult to sift through relevant attachments./

I was thinking that if the email notification sent is in Text format, this can be mitigated (not fixed) - re: response will be in the same format (unless of course recipients email client setup overrides).

Open to other ideas/suggestions.

Thanks~

Hi @Ed Chavez

If you talking about jira software, then all the comments etc coming from email, are passing through the email handler of the "incoming mail". This is common for all projects. So you can't really separate it.

On the other hand, if you talking about JSM projects, currently and on cloud, there is a build in feature which auto-detect the signatures and collapse them.
