Not receiving email notificaitons

Vicky Navaroli November 5, 2024

I am no longer receiving email notifications on JIRA tickets that are assigned to me.  I was receiving email notifications about 2 weeks ago but I do not know why I am not receiving them.  I have check my junk folder and there is no email notifications there either.  I was recently working on some tickets and usually get email notifications when tickets are updated and I have not received any of those updates either.  Any suggestions?

@Vicky Navaroli ,

Hello.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community

I understand that you are not receiving emails. I suspect this is due to the email suppression

Adding to the suppression list is a mechanism to avoid spamming recipient mail servers and indicating that an error has occurred, having identified they are not available to receive the email. The recipient may not be available due to various reasons some of which are, but are not limited to - DNS Resolution, Mailbox being full, Network issues, Firewall rules, Mailbox unavailable, Mail Servers facing reach-ability issues, User not setup, mailbox being inactive, etc.

We have a community post that can help you to un-suppress emails. Please find the posts below

If stii unable to receive emails, request you to reach out to support here: https://support.atlassian.com/ so that we can further check the account.

Thank You,

Prachi

Hello @Vicky Navaroli

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Are you getting in-application notifications under the Bell icon in the upper right corner?

Have you reviewed your Notifications settings (accessible under your avatar) to ensure you have not disable the option to receive notifications via email?

Have you checked with your Jira Administrators to have them review the Notifications configuration, comparing this to changes that have happened on issue and your relationship to those issues to confirm that the configuration would've have sent a notification to you?

Yes, I have checked my notification settings and it is showing as “send me emails for issue activity” with a green check and to receive emails as the assignee and reporter.  I am getting in app notifications under the bell, but I am not getting notification emails to the  email address for my account.  I will try contacting my Jira administrators but if there are other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

If you are getting in-app notifications then the problem is likely that your email address has been blacklisted on the Atlassian Cloud mail server. That can happen for a variety of reasons.

Your Jira Administrators can open a support case directly with Atlassian to find out if that is the case and get it resolved.
