As of March 22nd, I suddenly stopped receiving email notifications from Jira, but nothing has changed with my account settings. How do I get notifications turned back on?

Just a note here to let everyone know that if a user is not receiving their invite link because their email is on our suppression list, clicking the Resend invite link will unsuppress their email without you needing to contact Support.

Please note you will only see the Resend invite link if the user is unverified (i.e. if they have never logged in before). If you don't see the link, you will need to contact our Support team to have the email unsuppressed.

Note: For existing users, there is one more self-serve tool for unsuppressing the blocked emails of users who are not receiving notifications from either a Jira Software or Jira Work Management project. You can read more on that here.

@Trudy Claspill Hi Trudy, how do we contact Atlassian support directly? I've tried through the Contact page and there does not seem to be a way to message directly. This is more difficult than it should be. Is there a link you can share to contact Atlassian support?

Hello @andrew

Welcome to the community.

1. Check your personal settings to make sure you have not turned off email notifications.

2. Check with your Jira Administrators (if you are not one) to ensure that there has not been a change to the notification schemes such that you are no longer identified as a recipient. There is a Notification Helper that Jira Admins can use to confirm that the system is set up to send emails to you, where they can enter an issue id and an event and it will say if an email would be sent to you.

3. Check your email client to ensure the emails aren't ending up in your junk folder, and there are not any rules otherwise rerouting the emails out of your Inbox.

If none of those are the source of your issue, then it is possible that your email address got blacklisted on the Atlassian side so that they stopped sending notifications to it. You will need to contact Altassian Support directly to get that resolved.

I double-checked everything, and it has to be a case where my email address was blacklisted on the Atlassian side. I believe this occurred because my email account was temporarily disabled for a few hours last week, so I suspect that one of the notification emails from Jira bounced, which resulted in my email address being blacklisted.

Do I need to be an admin for our Jira account to contact Atlassian support?

I'm not sure. I've always been a Jira admin, and the Jira users at my company have not tried to open support cases. Give it a try and see if it works.

Go to this page: https://support.atlassian.com/

At the bottom I see a button labeled "Log in to contact support".

When I click that button it takes me to the first step of creating a support case, to a page titled "Contact Support" with a pull-down labeled "What can we help you with?"
