pradeep jeevan October 3, 2022

Hi Team,

when trying to align/add a custom field (select list multiple choice) in screens, they are not updating in the view screen tabs and sometimes in create screen tabs.

screens are shared with 700+ projects.

what causing this issue, reindexing? How much time it will took to make changes appears.

Please suggest.

let me know if you required any further details

Thanks,

Pradeep

@John Funk  This issue is still happening for us and our users have to refresh the entire screen every time in order to edit or move sub-items into the created element (initiative, epic, story/task, etc.).

This isn't just for Epic, but for every newly created work item on the List page.

Steps to Reproduce:

  • Navigate to the Project's "List" page
  • Create a new Epic under an Initiative
    • Filling out the full details on the pop-up window
  • Attempt to move an existing Story into the newly created Epic.

Result:

  • The new Epic appears in-line, but you cannot interact with it
    • The # Key (ID) number is not populated
    • The Summary (title) is populated
  • Cannot move Epic up/down in the list

Work-Around:

  • Press F5 to refresh the page
  • Expand the tree & sub items to find the newly created item

You need to open a support ticket with Atlassian to let them know.

Hi Pradeep,

Can you provide some more information? Did you add to the screen scheme? Did you make sure the context for the field is correct (right Issue Type maybe)? Did you do the Configure button in the Issue Layout to see if the field is there? Can you shared a screenshot of the issue layout screen?

Hi Pradeep,

A field needs to have a value in it to be visible on View Issue screen. You can also check Field configuration if it is applicable to your project.

Hi Raj,

Thanks for your response!

It will be the case in Server Jira, in Cloud Jira field don't need a value to show in view screen. In new issue view, fields will get visible with out any value too.
