Hi,
we customized the default workflow. Now we would like use the new workflow for every starting project automatically.
With many projects it takes too much time to change the workflow from Jira default to our version on every single project. Is it possible to set our workflow on default or is there a smooth workaround for assigning it automatically? Thank you for your help.
Annette
Hello Annette,
JIRA 7 onwards you can select the option
"create with shared configuration" while creating the project, this would copy workflow scheme, screen scheme, field, notification scheme of the mentioned project into the created project.
Please read more about it here-

This is, in theory, a good solution except for the fact that it creates a project WITHOUT a kanban board and the process for creating a new board for projects like these is cumbersome. Not sure if this is what Atlassian intended or not but it's a bummer.

Does this means the new project will use the same :
I'm curious to the extent of what will be shared in the new project.

Hello Annette,
just create a "Template Project" using the default workflow.
Now, when you create a new project just use > Create Project > Create with shared configuration.

Thank you! It#s a good idea to create a template project which we can always share. I just have to keep in mind that every change affect every associated project.

Yes, thats important - every change will affect every associated project. best practice: setup a bundle of template projects!
