Hi Team,
I've been digging up on this for the last 2 weeks and no luck!!! The requirement is that I want to add an "Employee ID" to my Jira user's details.
I tried Jira user properties to get these data somewhere in my Jira. But We have a large count of user accounts and I cannot find API to post the Employee ID Jira properties directly. Even after that, there is one more thing I need to point towards my concern, whenever we are onboarding any user in Jira and if we are using Jira user properties to maintain the employee ID list, then this will become a kind of tedious task for Jira a Jira Admin to add properties every time and sustain the process.
I've also checked up on the plug-ins, and I've seen 1-2 plugins which are useful but I need an alternative like automation, or if there is any option to add a column in the user management screen that would be great. If there is an option for plug-in I still need assistance from Atlassian on which is best to maintain these data. and if I'm using a plugin, then, will I be able to fetch these data from powerBI or directly fetch the data?
Your assistance will be really valuable
Thanks in advance!
Hi @Vruti Thakkar,
Try our Project Team app. It allows you to extend the Jira user profiles by adding user custom fields of various types.
You can start with a 1-month free trial. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at support@stonikbyte.com.
Hope this helps.
Danut.
Thanks @Danut M _StonikByte_ for your reply. I guess this plugin will be of good use.
Can you please also suggest, that if the management does not go with the plugin option, Can we have any other alternative? Like Automation rule? or Scripting?

Hi @Vruti Thakkar,
As far as I know it is not possible to extend the user profiles in Jira; custom fields can only be added to issues. Automation does not help in this case.

Hi @Vruti Thakkar ,
our app User Profiles for Jira could do for your use case (add data to user profiles).
To the other aspect: “Will I be able to fetch these data from powerBI or directly fetch the data”:
Although we don’t have a REST API to offer that data, you could configure your powerBI to directly access Jira’s database where UPJ’s data is stored. If that is an option, we could help with the SQL statements.
You can try the app for free by following the link I posted, and contact our Support if you need to, through the official Support channel: Product Support
