I originally set up most of the projects for our team and I get email notifications from every ticket in every one of the projects I created, even though I handed off the project ownership to others on the team and I am not listed in the People for each project. Why am I "watching" all of these projects and how do I turn it off?

@Janene Pappas

You are likely in a project role or group that is set to get one (or more) of the more voluminous notification events in the project notification schemes.  Ideally, you've used the same notification scheme for all projects and can just go in and find the notification to take yourself out of.   If not, you'll have to check every notification scheme.

In my experience, the biggest generator of notifications is the Issue Updated event but you should be able to tell just by looking at the emails.  For example, if it's all about status transitions, turn off that notification:

In addition to Tony’s input you might also run a query of issues you are watching and do a bulk update if appropriate.

I don't think this will completely fix the problem as new issue will continue to be added to my "watched" list unless I somehow remove the watch from the projects themselves.
