My old Jira tickets from two years ago are gone, how can I get them back?

I am ramping back up my use of Jira for a new project. I cannot find any of the project tickets from the end of 2016. Are they been deleted or archived after a certain period of time? I have reviewed all the community posts and cannot find an answer.

We cannot tell you - we are a community of end-users of Atlassian software, not your admins.

We can tell you that issues will not dissappear unless deleted, archived or hidden by security levels, there is nothing in Jira that does this "automatically", but all of that needs to be set-up or done by a human.

You really do need to talk to your administrators.
