Move Jira to SSO with 0365 Account

Pavel Petev December 29, 2021

Hello all,

first wish you happy holidays.

I have a question. Now we are using Jira  and users sign in with LDAP credentials. But, i want to move to single sign on with Microsoft account. Can i do this action without the need of giving access to all 0365 users to projects and ect? Can i point somehow that account X from ldap is email X from 0365?

Thank you very much.

First, a prerequisite, you will need Atlassian Access in order to setup SSO and O365.

There is an O365 Application called Atlassian Cloud in the O365 gallery, you will need to configure this and Atlassian access, below is a tutorial on doing just that:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/saas-apps/atlassian-cloud-tutorial

Also, you will need to setup provisioning in O365, this will allow you to sync your account between Atlassian and O365. If all is done correctly you should be able to manage which individual accounts have access to Atlassian product, this would be found in the Users and Roles portion of the O365 Atlassian Cloud application.

You can find more information on this via this tutorial as well.
