Is there a way to migrate all data from Azure DevOps to Jira Cloud? I understand that we can do an export and import the issues into JIRA but we would lose history (when an issue was moved from a particular state to another, etc.)
This would be important since we would like to move from Azure DevOps to Jira but not lose the history.
This is Majid @ Exalate.
Exalate is a bidirectional synchronization app which works with Azure Devops and Jira. Although it is primarily a synchronization solution, it has been widely used by clients to perform migrations as well (because essentially, a migration is a one-way one-time synchronization problem).
Please feel free to book a demo if you would like to see the product in action.
Thanks
Majid
Hi Yasir,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
I've searched for a tool to make this import but there is no add-on that provides this migration, I found only two add-ons to syncs Azure with Jira:
- Sync Azure DevOps with Atlassian Apps
- Sync Azure DevOps Server with Atlassian
Regarding migration, it will only be possible by exporting a CSV on Azure and importing on Jira. You can find more details on the documentation below:
- Importing data from CSV

Hi Angelica,
Please confirm if you have tried this migration through CSV? Were there any hiccups faced? Also what happens to sub tasks of the issues in the projects?
Is there any addon which insures one time successful migration from Azure devops to JIRA cloud?
I am looking for a the suggestion of moving everything over in bulk from azure devops and then letting the project teams moving the needed items into their specific projects/boards.
Please guide and help.
Thanks,
Nivesh

@Yasir Mehmood hi! Next time, take a look at ZigiOps. It's a flexible, no-code integration tool that can help you connect Jira and Azure DevOps and migrate the data you need (depending on your use case) without losing the history. Feel free to explore it and even book a demo to see firsthand how it can help you.

Hi @Yasir Mehmood ,
Were you able to migrate the Azure DevOps to Jira? Can you please help me out as I am working on the same task? Your timely help will be highly appreciated.

Hi @Deepali Bagul ,
TFS4JIRA provides this capability! You can integrate your Azure DevOps and Jira instances and choose the direction you'd like to migrate your data. You can migrate all your existing data, including custom fields and links.
We'd be happy to help you out if you have any questions or would like a demo!
Cheers,
Jamie

I tried TFS4JIRA option, but comments and historical data is not getting migrated. Will you be able to provide any solution for this please?
Thanks,
Kiran

@KiranKumar Katkuri I already replied to you in another thread.
1. TFS4JIRA does transfer comments, historical ones, and any newly created comments as well. The tool also stores the original creator name and date of such comment from the source environment in the transferred comment.
2. Historical data - TFS4JIRA Cloud Native can follow all steps found in the ADO work item revision list and perform the same steps on the JIRA side with the current datetime.
Would you like to meet with me and discuss the functionality? We could setup a support call as per your availability.
Best regards
