Hi,
we have a domain for Confluence (companyname-confluence.atlassian.net) and an other domain for Jira (companyname-jira.atlassian.net).
One more domain companyname.atlassian.net also belongs to us.
We use an active directory connection for user login. We have verified the domain -companyname-jira.atlassian.net. companyname-confluence.atlassian.net not yet.
Is it possible to merge companyname-confluence.atlassian.net and companyname-jira.atlassian.net on the domain companyname.atlassian.net? If it is possible - does it make sense?
Alternatively: Could we change the Domain companyname-jira.atlassin.net to companyname.atlassian.net
Thanks
Ingo
Hi @Ingo Syllwasschy , what you're asking for should be possible, but only if both Jira and Confluence are part of the same "Atlassian Organization" on Cloud.
There are two features that are working in tandem here:
First, you'll want to ensure that companyname.atlassian.net is owned and configured as part of the Custom Domains section of the Atlassian Admin portal at admin.atlassian.com.
Here's the help guid you will want to follow for this process: https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/add-a-custom-domain/
Once the domain is configured, you'll want to configure the product specific URLs. I suspect this is where most of the adjustments will need to be made. You'll want to remove any custom URLs set up here, and have this default to the primary domain you're using for the full instance.
Here's the help guide you will want to follow for the Product URLs: https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/update-a-product-url/
Once this is properly configured, it should default to the following for access to the separate products:
Hope that helps!
Robert
If you have multiple Atlassian Organizations for your products, you'll need to have these merged.
Unfortunately, that's a much more complicated process. Here is some Atlassian documentation on that: https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/should-i-merge-my-atlassian-organizations/
