Lost child issues when moving from Task to Epic

I moved a task with child issues to an Epic and can't find the child issues. Did it delete the child issues? It clearly said that it was moving 7 issues when I hit execute.

So if you move an issue of type Task that has sub-tasks to be of type Epic it will not automatically set the Epic link on the previous sub-tasks. The best method of doing this would be to create an Epic and then move the subtasks to be tasks and finally set the Epic link on the tasks. That said  given where you are at this point I suggest using JQL to locate these sub tasks and clean them up - move to tasks if not already and then add epic link.
