Jira new issue view - How to show sub-task estimates

Simon Teppett June 28, 2019

In the Jira new issue view - is there any way to show subtask estimates? It is a really poor UX to have to click through each subtask to see how big a piece of work it is.

Hello Simon,

The New issue view is still a lab feature in JIRA, so we are still working to implement some features, like the ability to select which fields to display in the Sub-task List.

We have created the following feature request to track our developers progress on this:

Updating jira.table.cols.subtasks in Advanced Settings has no effect in the new experience

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

For now, we recommend you to use the old issue view to keep using this functionality (Profile picture > Personal Settings > Turn-off new issue view).

To add the estimation fields to the sub-task columns in the Old Issue view, you can perform the steps below:

1 - Navigate to JIRA Settings > System > General Configuration > Advanced Settings

2 - Add to the jira.table.cols.subtasks property the following parameters, as described in this documentation:

   - timeestimate -> For Remaining Estimate

   - timeoriginalestimate -> For Original Estimate

   - timeSpent -> For Time logged

Let me know if you still have any questions.

This recommended answer doesn't help anymore, since we can not switch back to the old issue view... :-(

Is there any other way to see the remaining estimate? It's a very poor user experience the other way as @Simon Teppett mentioned.
