Hey @oscarbadoino

It sounds like you're encountering issues with connecting Jira to Git. Here are a few suggestions you can try that helped me in the past:

  1. Check Permissions:

    • Ensure that you have the necessary admin permissions to install and configure apps in Jira.
    • Verify that your Git repository permissions allow Jira to connect. Make sure the integration app is authorized to access the repository.
  2. Clear Cache and Reattempt:

    • Clear the browser cache and cookies, or try using an incognito/private browser window.
    • Sometimes Jira might cache old data that interferes with the installation process.
  3. Check for Network or Connectivity Issues:

    • Verify that there are no network restrictions (e.g., firewall) blocking Jira from connecting to Git.
    • If you're using a self-hosted Jira instance, ensure it can reach GitHub, GitLab, or whichever Git service you're using.
  4. Reinstall the Git App:

    • Go to Jira Settings > Manage Apps, search for the Git integration app, uninstall it, and try reinstalling it.
    • When reinstalling, ensure you follow all the steps carefully, especially with regard to OAuth or API key configuration, if required by the app.
  5. Check Jira Logs:

    • Review Jira logs for any errors related to the Git integration. This might give you a clue as to why it's not staying connected.
    • Logs can be accessed via Jira Admin > System > System Info > Logs.
  6. Review Git Integration Settings:

    • After installing, check the app settings to ensure the connection is properly configured. If necessary, re-enter the credentials or reauthorize the connection.
    • Some apps, like GitHub for Jira or GitLab for Jira, might require additional configuration steps.
  7. App Compatibility:

    • Ensure that the Git integration app you're using is compatible with your Jira version. Sometimes newer Jira versions require updated app versions, or older versions may not work with the latest Git repositories.
  8. Try a Different Git App:

    • If the current app is still not working, try using a different Git integration app from the Atlassian Marketplace to see if it resolves the issue.
  9. Contact Atlassian Support:

    • If none of these steps work, consider reaching out to Atlassian support with specific details about the app you're using and any errors you encounter.

These steps should help narrow down the issue with the Git/Jira integration.
