Hi,

I've been going through the documentation for the Jira slack integration and there doesn't seem to be a command that allows you to view a list of the issues for a project. Whilst the command /jira DEMO-1 does allow you to view and edit issues, it requires everyone using the channel to be very familiar with the issue IDs.

For our set up it's unlikely everyone is going to know which IDs relate to which task and in that case it would just be easier for them to go through Jira in the browser than the slack channel which isn't optimal.

Thanks,

Lucas

Hi Lucas, welcome to the Community!

Given that Jira projects often contain hundreds or thousands of issues, listing all issues of a project in Slack would be cumbersome for many situations. I'm guessing for your setup, you might be interested in helping people find issues that are in a current sprint, or issues that are assigned to them. Here are a couple items that might help:

  • Using the /jira manage command in Slack, or from a project's side bar in Jira, you can configure notifications into a channel when some event occurs. For example, when new issues are created, or their status changes (Open to In Progress)
  • Using Jira's Automation, you can have a list of issues dropped into the channel on a schedule such as every morning for Standup, based on some search criteria.
  • Individual users can switch to the Jira app in Slack to see a list of issues assigned to them, and take action on those issues using the '...' menu on the right - all from the comfort of their Slack app:

I hope this helps simplify things a bit with your Slack setup!
