Jira Projects not loading when using MS Edge

Oupa Monareng April 8, 2024

We have a few users that are unable to using MS Edge to perform their daily JIRA functions. The browser is continually loading but never returns any results. Everything works as expected on Google Chrome but the default and preferred browser is MS Edge. We have restarted the user's machine, cleared browser cache and reset browser settings but that doesn't seem to help. This is only happening to a few users since a few days ago. Screenshot attached

Remove the current version from the Applications Folder to Trash before you install the old version. You would then need to make sure not to re-start browser or machine itself. Otherwise you will be re-installing until the fix gets pushed from Microsoft.

I use TAB Session Manager to save all my windows and tabs for security.

Hi Oupa,

Have you tried it with an InPrivate Window? Sometimes that reveals if extensions or other items are getting loaded that might be interfering.

Hello John,

Thank you for your suggestion, I've asked the user to test. Will let you know as soon as I get feedback.

Hello John,

The behavior seems consistent even through InPrivate window, the issue is still the same.

Kind Regards,

You should open a support ticket with Atlassian then. I am sure they will want you to supply a HAR file.

Any update on this?

Oupa Monareng May 20, 2024

Hello Humberto,

The browser had uninstalled updates, as soon as the browser was updated to the latest version, it loaded JIRA pages as normal again.

Thanks for the tip,

Looks like that's not the case:

There was an issue with the 125 release of Chrome. It was a bug in Chromium it looks like. The 125 release of chrome ending in .77 fixed the issue for Chrome users but it is also affecting edge user since it is based on Chromium.

Chrome Fixed: Version 125.0.6422.77 (Official Build) (x86_64)

Edge up to date: Version 125.0.2535.51 (Official build) (x86_64)

Last 124 if you can find it: Version 124.0.2478.109

SO...A little behind.

If you can downgrade before Chromium/Edge 125 that might work.
