Hi all,
The best way to group our project in Jira plans is by using components. However, then we can only see the epics but not the tasks and stories under them. Is there a way to have a view of all the tasks under the epic using component grouping?
thank you
Hello @Gintarė Šimkutė
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
Have you assigned the Component values to the child issues also?
No, I haven't. So if I assign every child issue to that component it should work then?
Is there any other way? cause we have quite many tasks and it is difficult to keep track if all the tasks have been assigned to the component or not.
thank you :)

If you assign the Component value to each relevant child issue, then when you use the Component filter the child issues will also display.
I don't believe there is another way.
You could use the Automation for Jira feature to automatically copy the Component value from the Epic to its child issues. The availability of that feature depends on whether you are using Jira Server or Jira Data Center, and which version you are using. It comes by default with Jira Data Center v9.x, and there is a free app that can be added to earlier versions.

The "full featured" version is available only for Jira Data Center. There is a less featured "lite" version available for Jira Server.
