Jira Plans/Advanced Roadmaps - How can I see all dependency types in the list view columns?

The "Dependency" column in the Plans List view only displays "Blocked by" and "Blocks".

I am a site admin and have configured three different issue type relationships for Plans; all of these are displayed on the Dependency Map; however I can't see a way to get the the other two link types to show in List view?

Does anyone know if this is possible or only the default "Blocks" dependency type can be displayed in columns? Screenshot 2024-11-28 160636.png

Hello @Brendon Langhorne

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

I don't work a lot with Plans, so the following comments are based on limited observations I've just made with some experimenting.

In my Plan two Link Types are included in the Dependencies:

  • Blocks
    • Inward Description: is blocked by
    • Outward Description: blocks

  • Roadmap Hierarchy
    • Inward Description: Child of
    • Outward Description: Parent of

When I add the Dependencies field to the Timeline view I see two new columns with the headers Blocked by and Blocks

In those columns I see entries like 1 issue2 issues, and 3 issues

When I click on those entries it shows me a pop-up with a list of issues. The list shows the link relationship. I am seeing there both the links for blocks/is blocked by, and for child of/parent of.

It appears to me that in the Timeline view it groups all links into the two columns of Blocked by and Blocks regardless of the actual Link type, based on the link relationship. If an issue has a relationship of Inward Description to another issue, that other issue should be listed in the Blocked by column. If an issue has a relationship of Outward Description to another issue, then it should be listed in the Blocks column.
