Jira Create Issue template > Add a link or a photo to the template

Kristín Bestla Þórsdóttir February 5, 2020

Hi there,

Is there a way to include a photo or a web page link to a Create Screen.

I would like user to be able to access this info (in either a photo or a web page link) when creating an issue within a specific Project.

Fx. When creating an issue within Project Risk Management there is a photo of the Risk Management matrix, or a link to a Confluence Page that has this Risk Management Matrix.

Best regards

Kristín

Hi Kristin.

There are some ways that you can embed photos in to your tickets. An easy way is to put a ! on either end, such as !https://domain.com/image.png! if you also have a confluence this can be an easy spot to host them. But typically this works only in the description or your comment sections. Which aren't easy to pre-define with some data.

If you want to include a link for them to follow, you could use the Description portion of a custom field. Make something as simple as a radio button question, "Did you review the risk matrix?" With the link in your description.

I know you mentioned this for Jira Server, but in case you also use service desk the project configuration does allow you to also embed photos using the same text markup.

Hope this helps out.
