Hi,
We added a loop transition on the closed state - (ie from 'Closed' to 'Closed') for allowing specific people to add information on closed issues.
There are no conditions on the transition, the user has transition rights ... but still the transition doesn't show up on the issue itself
(This is a JSM project)
Are there certain hidden business rules?
Thanks
Francis
Hey @francis ,
If you should be able to do the transitions (no conditions or anything), then check the actions menu, self-reflecting transitions are shown in the actions menu for whatever reason.
Cheers,
- Tessa
Hey Tessa,
Thanks for that insight! I was able to find it there in my test environment.

Huh - I found it there too, unfortunately it will be pretty confusing to train people on. This definitely feels like a bug to me.

Hey @Melissa Nielsen ,
For end users I think this shouldn't be confusing at all.
Au contraire, a loop transition changes something in the issue, or shows a screen, or does an action somewhere else. The one thing it does not do is change the status of an issue.
So in behavior it is much more like a manual automation and much less a workflow change.
Only for your admins it can be a little confusing to remember where to find which configuration, but as a jira administrator I think this would be the least of your problems 😉

@francis ,
I've tested it in my own environment and see the same behavior. Actually, also in In Progress- statuses the self transitions don't show. This feels like a bug to me - probably worth raising it with Support?
