We are using Jira Cloud and have an email handler set up that will create a new case. That is working just fine. If you know an Issue ID, is there a way to email the handler with that Issue ID so that it will create a sub-task automatically?
There is no way to create a sub-task via email, at least OOTB. You could do this via the API I expect. Or you could potentially accomplish it thru some scheduled automation where it would run regularly and based upon summary or description Move to sub-task.
I think for folks to better assist here we would need more details of your use-case. If your primary requirement is to use email as the input method I would suggest searching the Marketplace place of email handler addons.
