Jira CLOUD XSRF Security Token Missing when closing a ticket

ndeplus March 11, 2020

Dear experts,

My colleague has the following popup every time he tries to close an issue on our servicedesk within Jira Cloud:

XSRF Security Token Missing

Jira could not complete this action due to a missing form token.

You may have cleared your browser cookies, which could have resulted in the expiry of your current form token. A new form token has been reissued.

Request URL: /secure/WorkflowUIDispatcher.jspa

The original input has been captured and you can retry the operation.

I have gone through many of the related topics on this helpdesk but not found any clear solution. Can anyone help me further on this please?

THank you very much.

Kind regards,

Nick

Hello @ndeplus ,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

In order to help you with this issue, we need to know a bit more. Specifically:

  1. Is your colleague the only one having the issue or also other users are affected?
  2. Is the issue happening when trying to close a ticket from the Customer Portal or from the Jira view or both?
  3. Do the affected users have any browser add-on/extension or any security application installed on their machine that could cause this issue, or, do they use a proxy or a VPN?
  4. Ask the affected user(s) to check if they have the issue also when using:
    1. A private/incognito browser window
    2. a different browser
    3. a different computer on a different internet connection

Please let us know.

Cheers,
Dario

    1. No, we have two team members experiencing this issue.....but others do not.
  2. Is the issue happening when trying to close a ticket from the Customer Portal or from the Jira view or both?
    1. Jira view
  3. Do the affected users have any browser add-on/extension or any security application installed on their machine that could cause this issue, or, do they use a proxy or a VPN?

Hi @Jason Campbell ,

This issue usually happens when using a proxy or some browser extensions or some Internet security tools.

If you don't have any of those and still only you and another user are facing this issue then, since you are site-admin of a standard Cloud instance, I would advise to create a support request in order to have this issue further investigated.

Also, to speed-up the resolution of your support request, it can be a good idea to attach a HAR file taken while reproducing the issue.

Hi @Dario B

can you elaborate what is causing the issue in the Proxy scenario?

We are facing the same issue and our PCs are optimized for security (not usability ;-)). We must use a Proxy when connecting to the company network, and there's certain security tools that are forced onto us to monitor the OS for irregular behavior.

Regards,
Thomas
