JQL requirement

shivani_shirguppi January 1, 2025

In Jira software I want to bulk move the issue from one project to another project. But the issues have subtasks linked and the other linking issues. How can I move them along with their subtasks and parents and linked issues?

Hi @shivani_shirguppi

as Sebastian already mentioned, moving issues is only possible if the sub tasks are also moved as well. If you also want to move the linked issues, you will have to ensure to create a JQL, which will find all of these issues and then also move them. This can be done by a bulk change on the JQL result.

And even if you leave the linked issues as is, moving the other issues with sub tasks is no problem as the linking will remain in tact.

Does that answer your question? Or is there any further question left?

Regards,

Stefan

Hi @shivani_shirguppi

When you move issue from one project to another one in same Jira:

  • subtasks will be moved automatically because they are a part of your tickets
  • parent links and other links should be not touch and still link to correct issues.

Seba
