JIRA report: number of ticket per month and priority

I'm looking for a report of the number of JIRA ticket created per month and priority. It would be like a "two dimensinal filter statistics", but with one axis being the month when the issue was created.

What's the best way to get this report ?

The two-dimensional report doesn't allow group by month in date fields, as far a I know ...

There is a crappy way to have the report by using the "created-vs-resolved": filter to your project and priority=X, and group montly. The crappy part is that you need 3 gadgets to see all the info (one per priority value).
