JIRA issues not appearing on the kanban

Seems like the issue me and my team are creating on our kanban board are not showing up on the board. They are directly going into backlog and do not show up until we move it to the board itself.

I tried looking for the option to change the filter for the kanban board but I am unable to find that setting. Where can I find that?

Hello @Namrata Alinkeel

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? That information will display at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.

For a Team Managed project to get a newly created issue to display on the board automatically you need to not use the Create button in the menu bar at the top of the screen. Instead you need to use the +Create options that are at the bottom of the left-most column on the board, or at the bottom of the Board section of the Backlog screen.

If you are working with a Company Managed project then what displays in the Backlog vs. the Board is determined by the Status of the issue.

Mine is a team managed board and yes for a fact when i create an issue using your method, it shows up on the board but till last week the cards would also show up when we created in from the create button on the top of the page. Do you think something changed from last week to this week ?

My experience has been that use of the Create button from the menu bar resulted in the newly created issues being added to the Backlog for a Team Managed project. I don't recall having the same experience as you.

I understand. Thank you for your help
