JIRA export versions in wrong format

Hi guys,

we are currently having the issue that when exporting issues with version information from our JIRA instance (CSV file), the csv shows the versions in date format - but only partly. When trying to change the format of the column to "Text", Excel completely mashes up the values and there are only random numbers in the chat. When trying to use xls format we get an error message as well.

Did any of you have the same issues and can help us?

Thanks up front... :)

The download contains date/time data in a standard format for exchanging dates and times.  It is not plain text, it's date/time data.  If you tell excel to display something as plain text, it essentially gives you the raw data in characters.

It's not "random numbers" you are seeing, it is the unformatted raw data.  You need to tell Excel to interpret it as a date/time, not text.
