Hello - our tech team has a JIRA workflow in place and they are very resistant to making any changes. Is there any way to create a "pre-workflow" for our sales team? This would leave their existing workflow in place, but allow us to place additional workflow approval stages on the issues before they reach our tech team's queue. Thanks!
You will have to copy the existing default workflow and add the steps and transitions you want in the begining. More information can be found at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Workflow.
