We have had a JIRA Watcher field installed in our instance since 2014 that allows us to control watchers inline on the issue; however, when we disable the plugin, that ability goes away. The watcher "field" is removed from the screens and system.
We are on JIRA Software version 8.20.4 and would like to upgrade to 8.22, but it tells us the plugin is incompatible with the new version of JIRA.
Is there any other functionality that inherently grants me the ability to add/remove watchers from the issue, without clicking the Edit button? If so, how do we keep the current watchers on each issue if it's a new plugin/field/etc.?
Thanks,
Scott

We hit the same issue unfortunately and would like to find out what alternatives there are..
