JIRA PDF View error message: "fo:table-body" is missing child elements."

Andy Keyworth August 14, 2015

I copied another template, which works fine as is, from our JIRA 6.2 system and tried to specify that certain fields would be written into a new report. But every time I try to print to PDF using JIRA PDF View, I get the following, consistent error message: ""fo:table-body" is missing child elements."

So I started stripping rows from the table, looking for the suspect element. I finally got rid of ALL the table tags. But the error message never changes. This makes no sense: when there is no table, how can a table element be the problem? The rest of the error message is useless: just Java stack code.

Even if you don't have any more <table> elements in the template, the value(!) of certain field types may contain tables. For instance Table Grid Editor creates tables.

If those tables contain zero rows, it may result in this error message.

Can you tell what custom field types are you trying to export?
