We installed a plugin from AppFire: [Reports and Timesheets for Jira]

And it causes an SQL error on our datacenter server: (JIRA version: v8.22.1)

This method is called during upgrade tasks (initial installation / upgrade). Upgrade tasks are generally to modify existing data from older plugin version to a new one.

Unless you are seeing other errors, you can probably ignore this and the plugin should work fine, because an upgrade task does not affect the rest of the plugin's function or initialization.

Exceptions due to different database types are relatively common, so yes it is good to report it to the vendor so they can fix it, but in general unless you are seeing other errors I think you should be fine.
