JIRA Authentication To local server via VSCode extension Fails with 404 error after version 2.8.5

We have local jira/bit bucket server that we connect to from VSCode. If we use v2.8.5 of the Atlassian VS code extension, it works fine. Any newer version returns a 404 error when trying to connect to the server. Any ideas or thoughts on what to look for? Is this more of a VSCode question?
