Issues not being linked as "To do" on EPICs

aaron.phillips June 13, 2024

We are seeing a multitude of Epic tickets that for whatever reason do not seem to track the overall progress of the Epic when being viewed from the Backlog page.

When selecting a specific Epic, the progress can be seen on the issue page, however when it is displayed in the backlog it is showing 0-0 issues assigned to it.

Does anyone know of a potential cause for this? The error is not consistent and we have multiple instances where this is working. We had changed our project prefix from X to Y, and these were created prior to that move, but we also have other examples of much earlier Epics (Issue 2 and Issue 3) that are not afflicted.

Unsure if this problem will just resolve itself going forward and only impacts these specific Epics or if it will return later down the line.

Hello @aaron.phillips

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Are the completed child issues within the scope of the board's filter, where you are seeing no progress in the Epic in the backlog?

Hey @Trudy Claspill

Thank you, and yes they are. This view is on the backlog board, and when selecting the epic from the left hand list, the relevant tickets, including the one shown above are present on the right hand side. I cannot see any way these differ from other examples where it is working.
