Issue type hierarchy isn't working correctly

Jessica Wang May 24, 2024

Hello Jira community,

I've been trying to implement a hierarchy in Jira: Feature>Epic>Task>Sub-task, so that Epics can have Features as their parents. Now in the system, Epic is level 1 and Feature is level 2, but in the parent field of an Epic, it won't allow me to add a Feature as parent, any idea why?

Hi Jessica,

Have you added Feature as an issue type to your issue type scheme for that project? Have you added the Parent field to the screen?

If you have done all of that, is there nothing showing in the Parent field on the Epic? Or just not what you want?

Hello @Jessica Wang

Can you provide a screen image of your Issue Type Hierarchy screen, please?
