Issue Collector - Submit a Comment to an Already Open TIcket?

I just read through the 'Advanced Use of the JIRA Issue Collector' documentation, and I didn't see anything about the following: 

  • Is there a way to have an issue collector submit information on a issue that already exists in a project? Or does the issue collector always create a new issue instead of adding additional details?  
  • Can an issue collector submit a comment in a pre-existing JIRA issue?

I'm evaluating whether it would be easier for me to use an issue collector or utilize the JIRA Rest API to do the two things I outlined above. Thanks!

Hi Rachel!

 

The issue collector can only be configured to create new issues.  You're spot on with the other option as my recommendation would be to utilize the API to accomplish what you're after.
