We wanted to test a script runner activity without disturbing any client configuration of project on JIRA cloud
Atlassian offer free cloud dev environments which you could use for testing like this.
go.atlassian.com/cloud-dev is where you create one.

We need the exact project configuration,issue types, workflow, etc as it to check the changes we are intending to run through script runner. Starting am ecosystem-dev-env would be like starting from scratch.

Please suggest an alternative way to revert back to older snapshot of all project configuration , being able to check the changes done apparently through scriptrunner

You will need to export and import cuts of data to do that.

If you want a full testing environment, you'd have to get a new cloud instance for this purpose.

You can buy the smallest user tier ($10/month) and keep that as your testing/staging. You'll want to copy your production data over and disable the extra users from production in your testing/staging site. Enable up to 10 users and you can start working in the staging environment.
