Hi @Mahanth Prudhvi P ,

In native jira, there is no dorcet way for this. You need to make use of security schemes and assign to the issue types when issue created using automation rules

If you have plugins like Script runner, you can do it by behaviors

@Rilwan Ahmed  @Faizan Sayyed Thank you for your response. But using Security scheme will make the process complicated because only 1% of users need this and the rest of the users are normal users.

Hey @Mahanth Prudhvi P

Unfortunately, we don't have any other option to achieve this functionality, and there is an open feature request for the same.

Please feel free to leave a comment and vote for the same.

Hello @Mahanth Prudhvi P

Thanks for reaching out to the community.

I understand you're looking to provide a user with view-only access to specific issue types within a Jira Cloud company-managed project. While Jira does not natively support restricting access to specific issue types in company-managed projects, there are some workarounds you can consider.

Using Issue Security Schemes:

  1. Create an Issue Security Scheme:

    • Navigate to Jira settings > Issues.
    • Under Issue security schemes, create a new scheme or edit an existing one.
    • Define security levels that specify which users or groups can view issues.
  2. Apply Security Levels to Issue Types:

    • When creating or editing an issue, apply the appropriate security level to restrict visibility to certain users or groups.
  3. Assign Security Levels to Issues:

    • Ensure that when issues are created, the correct security level is applied to control who can view them.

Important Considerations:

  • This method requires careful management of security levels and user permissions.
  • Users with the "Set Issue Security" permission can change the security level of an issue.
