Is there a way to turn off or filter email notifications for tickets I am not working on?

I get a bunch of emails from JIRA regarding tickets I am not working. Is there a way to stop these notifications from coming into my inbox?

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

If you get the notifications because you are the watcher on these issues you can use this filter to get all of them:

watcher = currentUser()

Once you you run the search you can use the bulk change (click the three-dot menu up in the right-hand corner) and remove yourself as a watcher, that will turn off the notifications.
