I am currently setting up Big Picture Programs for my organisation and getting a lot of negativity form users who are receiving hundreds of notifications when I move elements around in the Gannt chart.
Is there a way either in BP or in JIRA to prevent date modifications from being sent as notifications?
Hi @Steven Gray
While notifications are very useful and improve communication, when you create your Boxes and synchronize existing data, users might receive numerous notification emails. Therefore you can disabling the comments and notifications in Jira Administration >> Apps >> BigPicture Configuration >> General >> Tasks.
Here you will find more useful information regarding Initial Configuration.
Hi @Anna-BigPicture We switched off the BP notifications some time ago.
The issue now is that BP is updating JIRA with new dates and JIRA is then sending its own notifications. Users do not want to turn off JIRA notifications, obviously, but we'd like to try and stop these specific notifications from being sent.
Any ideas of how we may do that?

@Steven Gray just one question more. Do you have "Save tasks changes to Jira comments" disabled (on the very bottom of the page)?

Hey @Steven Gray
Can you perhaps shed some light on this topic, did you manage to find a fix for the notifications being sent to everyone with every change in BP?
Having the same issues now while I started trialing BP.
Thanks:)

I passed your question to our Product Management Team and we are working on a solution. Please raise a ticket via our Service Desk so our product specialists and developers can further investigate the issue.

No we never found a solution to it. It came to a head and we ended up not proceeding with the roll-out of BP.

This is the main reason all my devs HATE bigpicture. We are still using it, but the question is for how long. I have the impression that their "turn off messages" feature just doesn't work.
