Is there a plugin for Jira Dashboards according to our requirements

Pierre Stefanek August 3, 2022

Hello!
Our team needs a Dashboard which can display various information (e.g custom fields from Tickets). Therefore the casual Dashobards from Atlassian (Jira) wont work.
Basically we have a fields ("original time estimated") which needs to be put into relation to a filter.

First: we want to display Tasks and Subtasks of an project (overview today/weekly)  in a pie chart and than when the original time estimated in a Ticket is a certain amount, we want a warning. (image 1)

Second: we want another graphic which contains specific epics. Those epics should also show Tickets and how many hours are estimated in those. (image 2)

Is there a plugin in the marketplace which meets our requirements?

Best regards
Pierre

Hello @Pierre Stefanek,

I am Marlene from codefortynine.

Another option might be Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards.

With our app you can make statistics for any Jira number field, also "original time estimate". These statistics are possible with Quick Two Dimensional Filter Statistics, Quick Filter Statistics and Quick Pie Chart (a list of all Quick gadgets can be found here.)

It is possible to show warnings with the Quick Filter Counts gadget. Simply create a JQL that displays all issues with a certain amount of "original time estimated" (e.g. originalEstimate >= 4d).

You can check out all gadgets mentioned above on our demo dashboards.

This warning won't show up in the Quick Pie Chart or in other gadgets. If this is required for your use case, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Hi @Pierre Stefanek

I think that our add-on Dashboard Hub for Jira could meet your needs. I built a dashboard example and quickly created this Public Link for you to check it out real time.

At the moment, Dashboard Hub doesn't have any feature that could generate a warning. However, great part of Dashboard Hub has been built according to our users' needs, so feel free to try it 30 days for free and submit a request in case you'd love to see new features implemented, like this one :)

All the best,

Iván, Product Marketing Manager

Hi @Pierre Stefanek

for your second requirement, this can very elegantly be seen in the app that my team is working on, JXL for Jira

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view that allows viewing and inline-editing all your issue fields, including, of course, all time estimate fields. You can also view your issues in their hierarchy with just one click:

hierarchy-plus-original-estimate.gif

You can also group your issues via any issue field, combine grouping with hierarchy, and calculate sum-ups across groups of issues - plus, all the quick sorting, filtering, and editing and creation capabilities you'd expect from a spreadsheet view.

Hope this helps,

Best,

Hannes

Hi @Pierre Stefanek

Some of the requirements can be met with our plugin.

You can add custom fields on your reports/dashboards and the app also rolls up time estimates/story points/custom numeric fields.

Do give it a try.

Hi Pierre,

Off the top of my head Rich Filters in tandem with ScriptRunner maybe able to do what you are looking for. Alternatively you may need to use an actual dashboard tool with something like Tableau etc

As Apps are made by third parties, it's sort of like an app store for your phone. My best recommendation for any apps is to find several and set up demos with the vendors and ask the vendors your questions. The reason being is sometimes the abilities you seek may not be there but they can do custom dev work for you for a cost to make you a specific one. Without engaging with the vendors though you wouldn't get that information.

Best,

Clark
