Is it possible to show Goals progress from a dashboard in Jira?

Charlotte McPherson _US-ENG_ February 19, 2025

Hi,

Execs at my company would like a single pane of glass from which to see all they need to know. That incudes teams productivity (cycle times, etc), do teams have incidents to deal with, are we on track to complete a major release, and how we are progressing towards our goals.

This question is related to the Goals piece of this ask. Is there some sort of Goals gadget, or some other way to show Goals (that are captured in Atlassian Goals) progress in a Jira dashboard?

Thank you
Charlotte

Hi @Charlotte McPherson _US-ENG_,

I am not familiar with Atlassian Goals, but if these goals are added in Jira in form of issues, you could track them normally, like issues by using Jira's native gadgets. Are the goals searchable in your Jira by using JQL filtering?

AFAIK you can search for Jira issues that are linked to Goals based on that Goal ID, but you cannot search for the Goals themselves.

Hi @Charlotte McPherson _US-ENG_,

Thanks for your answer.

I'm afraid that this is not possible to generate goal stats by using Jira's default gadgets, because most likely, they do not offer the Goals field. But you should double-check.

Also, if you consider using a plugin, the Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app might offer the Goals field and you should be able to generate stats based on it, in a similar way with the ones Epics:
